This project involved a 300 year old ruin on the Inner Hebridean island of Coll within which SB&J built part of a family home with the remainder of the home being built on sand with the use of a complex foundation system linked together with a glass hallway/living room with a sedum roof. The remote location provided interesting challenges such as material procurement as the island has a once daily ferry service in summer which is reduced in winter and is obviously weather dependent.
